13. Discussion and necessary action regarding the selection of a fence design pattern for the Dogwood and Interstate 8 new bridge.

RECOMMENDATION:

Provide direction to city staff on selected alternative and authorize staff to report back to Caltrans for design finalization.

14. Consider adoption of Ordinance and Resolutions to place ballot measure on the November 8, 2016 Special Election to increase the Sales and Use Tax by .5%

A) ORDINANCE NO. 16- , OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL CENTRO ADDING SECTION 25-19.1 TO CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 25-29 TO INCREASE THE SALES AND USE TAX BY ONE-HALF CENT

B) RESOLUTION NO. 16- , OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL CENTRO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016, FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE INCREASING THE CITY’S SALES TAX BY A HALF CENT; SETTING THE PROCEDURES FOR SUCH ELECTION AND AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS
