CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNS INTO CLOSED SESSION CITY COUNCIL CLOSED SESSION ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation against the City. A point has been reached where, in the opinion of the City Council on the advice of its legal counsel, based upon existing facts and circumstances, there is a significant exposure to litigation against the City under Govt. Code Section 54956.9(d)(2). There are 6 pending claims: Leonardo Cortez (work on street project allegedly cracked concrete in back yard); Diego Roa, Melissa Roa, Veronica Roa, and Francisco Aguilera- 4 separate claims based upon allegations arising from a private car accident at Pepper & Cottonwood); and Gastelum (tire damage as a result of pot hole). The claims are available from the City Clerk’s office. Agenda City Council of the City of El Centro October 6, 2020 City of El Centro Page 2 REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATIONS The City Council will recess to closed session pursuant to Government Code §54956.8 to give instructions to the City’s negotiators, Marcela Piedra, City Manager, and Abraham Campos, Public Works Director for the following negotiations regarding real property for the Southern Pump Station which instructions will include price, terms of payment or both, due diligence provisions and other monetary related considerations concerning purchase and sale of the property identified as follows: Madison Property Group, LLC (Marc Mirbod) - APN 054-050-008 NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC This is a public meeting.
