CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNS INTO CLOSED SESSION

CITY COUNCIL CLOSED SESSION POSSIBLE LITIGATION INITIATED BY THE CITY A point has been reached where, in the opinion of the City Council upon the advice of its legal counsel, based upon existing facts and circumstances, there is a significant possibility of initiation of litigation by the City under Govt. Code Sections 54956.9(d)(3) and (d): Nuisance abatement and possible receivership for property located at 759 Main. St., El Centro POSSIBLE LITIGATION AGAINST THE CITY A point has been reached where, in the opinion of the City Council upon the advice of its legal counsel, based upon existing facts and circumstances, there is a significant possibility of litigation against the City under Govt. Code Section 54956.9(d)(2): 1) claim of Jose Zepeda for a cell phone lost by ECPD; claim of Sandra Forsythe for damage to her fence. EXISTING LITIGATION INITIATED BY THE CITY Upon advice of its legal counsel, the City Council will recess to closed session pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(d)(1) regarding City of El Centro v. WasFun Realty (Mayan receivership).

LABOR NEGOTIATIONS The City Council will recess to closed session pursuant to Government Code §54957.6 to meet with Agency Representatives Marcela Piedra, Richard, Romero, Finance Director, and Teri Brownlee, Human Resources Director for the purpose of reviewing the City’s position and instructing its representative(s) regarding matters of salaries, salary schedules, compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits, or, as applicable, other matters dealing with mandatory subjects within the scope of representation pursuant to Government Code §3504; negotiating with All Department Heads, All Unrepresented Units, All Bargaining Units.

3 PUBLIC SAFETY Upon advice of its legal counsel, the City Council will recess to closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(a) regarding matters posing a threat to the security of public buildings and essential public services and the public’s right of access to those. The Council also may consider the ability to discuss certain matters arising from the state of emergency pursuant to Govt. Code Section 54956.9(d)(3).

If there is an item on the agenda on which you wish to be heard, you are asked to complete a blue speaker slip and submit it to the City Clerk prior to the start of the meeting.
